New rules for screening hand luggage and checked baggage at airports in Kazakhstan

As of August 21, 2025, updated aviation security requirements are in effect at all airports in Kazakhstan. Under the new rules, items and substances confiscated from passengers during pre-flight security screening will no longer be stored at the airport.

Items found to be non-compliant with safety regulations may be handed over to accompanying persons. Otherwise, they will be disposed of in accordance with the law.

QAZAQ AIR (Vietjet Qazaqstan) recommends that passengers review the list of prohibited items in advance, available on the official websites of airlines and airports, as well as at information points at check-in counters and security checkpoints.

Please note that liquids, aerosols, and gels are permitted in hand luggage only in containers of no more than 100 ml. In addition, food products without factory packaging — such as honey, jam, dairy products, homemade preserves, and similar items — are not allowed on board. All such items will be confiscated and disposed of.

“Checking your belongings in advance will help avoid confiscation, reduce screening time, and contribute to flight safety,” QAZAQ AIR (Vietjet Qazaqstan) stated.
