QAZAQ AIR Strengthens Cooperation with Ulytau Region and Expands Flight Program from Zhezkazgan
On July 24, Akim of Ulytau Region Dastan Ryspekov held a meeting with Adilbek Umraliev, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of QAZAQ AIR (Vietjet Qazaqstan).
The meeting focused on expanding the region’s air connectivity, preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter navigation season, and strengthening the operational stability of the airline’s route network.
In light of the steady increase in demand for air travel from residents of the region, QAZAQ AIR outlined plans to increase the frequency of existing routes and explore the launch of new destinations. The parties also discussed route network planning for 2026, taking into account both commercial and government-subsidized routes as part of the national program to improve transport accessibility.
Currently, QAZAQ AIR operates regular flights from Zhezkazgan on three routes: to Astana and Shymkent — five times per week, and to Karagandy — three times per week. Once runway renovation works at Zhezkazgan Airport are completed, the frequency of flights on the Zhezkazgan–Astana route is expected to increase to seven flights per week.
“In addition, within the framework of developing the tourism cluster of Ulytau Region, the launch of new routes such as ‘Zhezkazgan–Aktau’ and ‘Zhezkazgan–Turkistan’ will be considered,” the Ulytau Region Akimat noted.
As a result of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperation aimed at developing the region’s transport infrastructure and improving passenger service quality.
