QAZAQ AIR launches regular flights from Turkestan to Samarkand

QAZAQ AIR airline launches regular international flights from Turkestan to Samarkand from 2 June. Direct flights between the cities will depart twice a week on modern, comfortable airliners De-Havilland Dash 8-Q400 on the following schedule: 

Wednesdays and Sundays (local time):

IQ 509 Turkestan 15:30 – Samarkand 16:40

IQ 510 Samarkand 17:20 – Turkestan 18:40.

Samarkand is one of the oldest cities in the world, is the second city of Uzbekistan after Tashkent in terms of population and territory, industrial importance, as well as the centre of world tourism. This city has a history of over 2,750 years, making it a peer of Rome and Athens. It was a key hub on the Great Silk Road, attracting merchants, explorers and travellers for centuries. Samarkand is a real open-air museum, which is worth exploring deeply and leisurely.

It should be noted that Samarkand has been declared the cultural capital of the CIS for 2024. In 2025, Samarkand will host the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO – the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
